Fruit is red-orange striped over gold background in color.  Flesh is very crisp, firm, juicy, dense aromatic and subacid.  Gala's were first developed in New Zealand.  The flesh is cream and the texture is crisp. The apple has a unique, sweet, tangy flavor and a lovely aroma.  Galas are some of the best eating apples we offer.

We consider the Gala their number one choice for a fresh eating or a cooking or dessert apple. A perrenial favorite.
